Gay, Jean-Christophe

biography

Jean-Christophe Gay is a university professor at the University of Aix-Marseille I and a French geographer. His concept of 'tomogenesis' offers a new way of looking at spatial boundaries and discontinuities. He has contributed to the renewal of the study of overseas territories, focusing in particular on their coloniality through a comparative approach. His interest in forms of domination and social racism has led him to reflect on the issue of tourismophobia and the underlying class contempt.
