Jean Widmer arrived in France in the 1950s and has become a leading figure in the world of graphic design. His work, including signage for public places and road infrastructures, has left its mark on the French graphic design landscape. He was a pioneer, one of the first in France to make typography a central element of his designs. He has designed many visual identities, including the Centre Georges-Pompidou, the Musée d'Orsay, the Institut du Monde Arabe and the Rmn.
