Sunwoo, Irene

biography

Chair and curator of architecture and design at Chicago Art Institute since February 2021, she was curator of the Arthur Ross architecture gallery and director of the exhibitions at the Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planing and Preversation since 2016. In 2015, she was associated curator of the architectural Biennal of Chicago (‘the state of the art of architecture”). She wrote several articles published by Grey Room, AA files and Harvard Design Magazine. She taught at Parsons School of Design, Bard College and Oberlin College. She received a BA in art history from New York University, an MA from the Bard Graduate Center, an MA at the Architectural Association., and a PhD at Princeton University School of Architecture.
