The “ Solar Nef ” is a sundial installed along the A9 motorway at the Tavel Nord rest area, in Tavel in the Gard in France. The work, created in 1993, is the fruit of the collaboration between the sculptor Odile Mir, the astronomer Denis Savoie and the engineer Robert Queudot. The work, monumental, in a contemporary style, is presented as two intersecting pyramids. The dial gives solar time; a conversion, according to the CET or CEST time zone, is to be carried out to obtain legal time.
