biography

Elizabeth Haines is a British historian. She currently works at the UK National Archives. Specializing in decolonial history, part of her research focuses on the mapping and lived experience of land rights in twentieth-century Africa. At the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, she collaborated between 2018 and 2020 on Second Shelf, a collaborative book acquisition project initiated by artist Heide Hinrichs that interrogates library space as a field of action for anyone who identifies as female, queer, non-binary or racialized.
