Bibliothèque n°2

abstract

For this second library of texts, an invitation has been extended to the teachers, researchers and designers we work with in universities and art schools. They shared, and sometimes commented on, some of their readings. Texts which, for each of them, were fundamental or enlightening reading, necessary to approach and (re)think about design and its multiple practices. From William Morris to Martino Gamper, from Anthony Vidler to Caroline Evans, from Yves Citton to Cora Walker, the authors –artists, designers, historians, researchers, philosophers, lawyer... – brought together here by chance, often seem to respond to each other and engage in dialogue. Over several decades, they examine design practices, whether they apply to the conception of a book or the planning of a city, ‘from the little spoon to the skyscraper’. Line direction: Problemata researchers.
